We show how to detect the Earth precesion, and estimate the duration of a precesion cycle, using a modest telescope (an aperture of 50 mm is enough) and a digital camera (CCD). We obtain a period of 29.200 ± 1.700 years for the precesion, compatible with the accepted one (25.800 years) at the 2-sigma level. Our method relies in the precise measurement of the coordinates of the North Celestial Pole by means of triangulation, using a set of circumpolar stars.
