Resumen


This article presents, as a workshop project with historical and didactical purposes, the recovery of a mechanical scale of the XIX century. The scale was named goniobarymeter by its inventor, the Spanish engineer Darío Bacas. Its functioning, which relies on a not very well known property of the cycloid, is briefly explained here. Furthermore, details are given for building a model, with decigram sensitivity, just using home materials and tools.
