El eclipse de sol del 28 de mayo de 1900.

Vicent F. Soler Selva

In May 28th, 1900, more than 40 European astronomers visited our country (BV, Baix Vinalopó, Mediterranean Coast of Iberian Peninsula) to observe a Total Solar Eclipse. In this publication we looked for answers to different questions: Which were the scientific keys that explain the importance of that event? Who were the astronomers? How did the astronomers work in 1900? What kind of research were they after? What did they know and ignore about the physics of the Sun?, and so on. As a result of our investigation we have concluded, for example, that the observation of the Eclipse of 1900 was a significant astronomic event that highlighted the emergent importance of Astrophysics over Astronomy.
