¿Es nuestra Galaxia barrada?.

Francisco Garzón

This paper describes briefly several of the many observational clues for the Galaxy to host a central bar, which is a major structural feature on the Galactic disc. The different pieces of evidences are shown sequentially to derive the broad picture on which the central Galactic bar coexists with a peanut-shape bulge, with which it shares a triaxial nature, but with different geometrical parameters. Some of the observational projects of the Galactic Structure group of the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias whose data have been used for the investigation on the existence and nature of the bar are mentioned.
